The
Scotts Valley Host Lions Club utilize numerous methods to raise funds
to support our projects and the local community. The majority of our
funds are raised from the following larger projects:
Annual Crab Cioppino Feed and Dance
Annual
Golf Tournament
Annual
Holiday Lights Cruise and Food Drive
White Cane Day Solicitation
Eye Glass Recycling
The
Cioppino Feed and Dance have always been extremely successful
and popular with local residents. The event is normally sold out long
before the dinner. The dance is entertained by popular area bands featuring
music from the 60's. Contact
us if you would like to be notified of ticket sale availability
for the 37th annual event scheduled for March 10, 2007.
The
Fifth Annual Scotts Valley Lions Charity Golf Tournament will
be held in September 15, 2006, at the Boulder Creek Golf and Country Club. Each
year the Scotts Valley Host Lions Club puts on a fun golf tournament
and auction for our community. The tournament proceeds are used to help
a local organization and other youth and community services. For more
information, please visit our Lions
Golf Tournament page.
The
Scotts Valley Holiday Lights Cruise
is sponsored by the Scotts Valley Host Lions Club and the Scotts Valley
Parks and Recreation department with volunteers from all service organizations.
Residents and businesses compete to determine who has displayed the
best holiday decorations. Winners are determined by the numerous drivers
who participate in a Poker Run 'cruise' to view and vote for their favorites.
Valley Churches United Mission receive the proceeds from this popular
annual event and distribute the donations to those in the community
needing a hand during the holiday period. Click

White
Cane Days are used to collect money for our Sight and Hearing
Fund. Money is collected by soliciting funds directly from the public
at various locations in Scotts Valley and by contributions from local
companies. Click here
to see where the money goes.
Used
eyeglasses are collected by Lions and other volunteers and are recycled
at one of nine Lions Eyeglass Recycling Centers throughout the world.
The used eyeglasses are cleaned, repaired and classified by prescription.
The eyeglasses are then distributed to those in need by Lion volunteers
and other organizations hosting optical missions in developing countries.
Individuals may donate their used eyeglasses year-round to their local
Lions club via collection boxes located at various community offices
and businesses, offices of members of the American Optometry Association,
Goodwill Industries stores, LensCrafters stores, and Dr. Anthony Giannotti's
office in Scotts Valley.
